LiDAR and Drone Services

We offer unmanned aerial system (UAV/UAS) solutions. This includes high-quality LiDAR to create incredibly precise three-dimensional surface models to improve engineering, GIS analysis, and modeling. We also provide high resolution aerial imagery and videography that can be used for quantifying vegetation and assisting in habitat assessments. Our drones are used to evaluate hydrological functioning and conduct post-construction monitoring, providing valuable data for ongoing project success and environmental management.

  • Advanced Technology

Our state-of-the-art technology and software solutions provide accurate terrain mapping and surfaces, including underwater solutions. The premier of our drone fleet is our LiDAR drone that can capture data points beneath the thickest vegetation.

  • Better Data Leads to Better Design

Our technology enables more precise elevation measurements. Accurate elevations and terrain models result in highly reliable hydraulic models, reducing errors and leading to superior designs.

  • Precise Elevations

Obtaining precise elevations is essential for successful revegetation. Without accurate data and precise water surface elevations, a new wetland like the one shown above could not thrive. Our experienced engineers are dedicated to delivering flawless, accurate final designs.

RIVHAB offers precise terrain mapping for engineering design and GIS analysis. Parcel boundary surveys must be completed by a Professional Land Surveyor, which we will subcontract when required.

Leveraging Drone Technology for Innovative Environmental Monitoring and Restoration

Drones play a vital role not only in our restoration design efforts but also in monitoring the effectiveness of project treatments.

Before implementing large wood placement in Rattle Creek, Idaho, the RIVHAB team utilized LiDAR and imagery drones to capture pre-construction conditions in this remote wilderness area. In collaboration with our partners, we conducted research on wood mobility and spawning gravel recruitment.

This innovative work is poised to provide lasting benefits to native bull trout populations for years to come.
