Our History
RIVHAB, PLLC was founded in 2019 by Jeanne McFall with a commitment to delivering high-quality, science-driven engineering design and construction services. Jeanne's career blends private and academic experience with a decade-long tenure as the Lead Fisheries Habitat Engineer for the State of Idaho. In this unique role, she collaborated with landowners and local biologists to understand the biological and physical factors influencing habitat recovery goals.
Partnering with national experts in river restoration science, Jeanne established a program of excellence focused on floodplains, riverscapes, and innovative water resource engineering solutions. Her dedication to precise surveys and improved hydraulic designs brought a new level of accuracy and effectiveness to projects, fueled by her passion and contagious enthusiasm for crafting practical solutions for landowners.
As a lifelong Idahoan, Jeanne witnessed the last natural Sockeye salmon return to Central Idaho in the early 1990s—a moment that shaped her education and career. Since then, she has devoted herself to enhancing the resilience of our natural resources and supporting the recovery of the Pacific Northwest’s iconic rivers and fisheries.
We’re the only riverscape specialists in the Western United States with the ability to collect LiDAR in-house to provide exceptional terrain mapping through even the thickest vegetation, often a necessity in rural counties. This technology provides significant cost-savings and data coverage towards traditional topographic survey and greatly improves model and design accuracy as well as adding remote sensing capabilities and GIS analysis.
